Paul brings 10 years of commercial line management experience, 7 years of consultancy experience and 8 years of executive development experience into the work he does. He began his career in law but quickly switched into commercial managerial roles, working in ever more senior positions managing multi million pound businesses, he switched to consultancy as a career having completed an MBA in 2003. Augmented by his doctorate, awarded in 2017 from original research on how leaders in organizations influence employee and organizational performance, he combines real world practical experience with academic rigor.
Providing client management, design, delivery, facilitation and research, Paul has worked with clients in a wide range of sectors across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. He has extensive experience in leadership, management, technical and sales development, where his work is strongly focused on leadership and management development, organizational and cultural change programs. He has designed and delivered multiple global blended learning leadership development programs, top team development programs, cultural transformation and organizational development interventions. He has also worked on the creation of competence and capability frameworks, building e-learn, business simulations, and experiential simulations.
Paul has worked on development programs aimed at changing prevailing cultural as well as operational models in support of organizational aims for a range of clients, often within complex alliance, joint venture models, or sub-contractor reliant models, including BT, AstraZeneca, Rotork, IKEA, Skanska, National Grid, Mott McDonald, NATS, Oracle, Hiscox, Hermes Investments, Rolls Royce plc and Arm Holdings.
As a senior member of the Center for Creative Leadership© faculty, he is involved in diagnosing leadership challenges, designing inspirational programs or working with participants in the classroom, all the time drawing on his real world experience to help participants discover their true leadership talents.
Paul holds a law degree (Aberdeen University, 1992), an MBA (University of Ulster, 2003) and a doctorate in business administration (Cranfield School of Management, 2017). Despite his academic credentials has a very practical approach to leading people, projects and change.
Paul is a member of the British Psychological Society and is certified in the use of personal profiling instruments e.g. Wave, 16PF, MBTI, Belbin Team Roles, Assess as well as the DIN accredited proprietal instrument and methodology of Mercuri Urval.
