Experience

For more than 5 years, Jayke has been responsible for building the capacity of both youth and adults in areas of community leadership, healthy relationships, diversity & inclusion, and social change. Originally forming these passions as a community organizer and undergraduate student leader, Jayke has since continued to advance his skillsets at the Center for Creative Leadership® where he works interdependently across the sectors of nonprofit, higher education, and other youth-serving organizations. His professional competencies are characterized most prominently by the increasing levels of accountability and success within the areas of experiential design, development, management, delivery, and evaluation of leadership and community engagement programs for underserved populations.

Current Role

Jayke is a faculty member of the Societal Advancement team at CCL, where he is afforded the opportunity to pour his passion into his work. One of his current responsibilities is to serve as the Director of the ValueAble Leader Project, a forthcoming digital leadership toolkit that has been designed to be inclusive of the educational needs expressed by individuals with various learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD. Prior to serving in a faculty capacity, Jayke’s primary role was to manage the Golden LEAF Scholars Leadership Program, a 4-year, co-curricular leadership development program for approximately 300 college students who graduated high school throughout rural and tobacco-dependent regions of North Carolina.

Educational Background

In 2016, Jayke was awarded an M.A. in Peace & Conflict Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with cognate areas in community partnership management, organizational leadership, and interpersonal/intragroup conflict. Prior to moving to North Carolina, he received a B.S. in Human Development & Learning with minors in Leadership Studies, Women’s Studies, and Social Work from East Tennessee State University.

He is certified by 4MAT 4BUSINESS® to provide inclusive program design and delivery for a diverse range of learning preferences, and is additionally certified by the Center for Creative Leadership® to design and deliver its flagship suite of fundamental leadership solutions.
