History of Work with Indian Leaders
We have partnered closely with Indian clients since 2009, when CCL’s India office was formally incorporated; but our history of work with Indian leaders dates back to the 1980s with their participating in leadership development initiatives undertaken by global multinational corporations.
2001 was a watershed year, marking the first delivery of a CCL custom engagement in India, with an India-based client. Then from 2005 onwards, after we established the CCL — Asia Pacific office in Singapore, engagements with India-based clients accelerated. India-based organizations now send their managers to open enrolment programs worldwide and partner with CCL — India for the design and delivery of custom solutions.
CCL offers solutions for strengthening your leadership pipeline
Whether it is a pool of key talent to be prepared for significant roles, solid managers that form the bedrock of your organization, or leaders spread across multiple geographies, CCL can craft the right solution to strengthen your organization’s leadership pipeline.
Our Leader Development Roadmap and associated leadership programs are perfectly aligned to the leadership pipeline needs of most large organizations. We also create targeted custom solutions for particular levels of leadership, which are anchored in your organization’s competency framework or around an identified need.
CCL’s portfolio of offerings includes:
Our leadership programs are aligned to the challenges leaders face every day at different levels of the organization and aim to build the essential leadership skills required at their level. These scheduled programs are research-based offerings that use experiential approaches, deliver practical insights, as well as provide great networking opportunities with other leaders from diverse backgrounds, cultures and industry sectors.
Our custom solutions are tailored to address your organizations’ needs, practices, competencies, culture, and vision for the future. Leaders take back learning that serves the strategic imperatives of their organization. Clients also benefit from internal networking among peers, which enhances collaboration-an ability that is critical for leadership success today.
Leadership coaching helps leaders prepare for a greater scope of responsibility, leap forward in leadership capabilities, and make shifts in his/her behavior. Coaching services are offered both as a focused stand-alone developmental approach over a 7 to 9 month period or integrated with a program to help implement identified goals once the manager returns to the workplace.
A pioneer in designing and deploying 360s for development for nearly three decades, CCL offers a bank of pre-designed assessments addressing competencies at different leadership levels. Using 360 By Design®, we can also provide a fully customized instrument for your organization. We partner with other providers, such as CPP (MBTI®, Firo-B® provider), to offer learning activities anchored in assessment.
Understanding Leadership in India
India is a major growth economy and Indian organizations are quickly becoming global, making it imperative to understand leadership from the Indian and Asian perspective. In response, CCL has undertaken several research projects. Since 2006, we have sought to understand the leadership needs of this region, and the unique perspectives that have a bearing on how leaders are developed in India and the Asia Pacific region.
The more we engage with Indian leaders through our work and research, the more our breadth and depth of insights about leadership grows. Regional and India-based initiatives now complement the Center’s global research projects to create a new wealth of understanding and knowledge, which in turn informs our work with clients in India.
Partnerships for Developing Leaders
There has never been a more pressing need than now for developing leaders in India. The rapid pace of growth, uncertain and fast-changing global economic conditions, and the persisting ambiguity of doing business has made strengthening the leadership pipeline a critical success factor for all organizations. And these needs for leadership development have grown far beyond the basic technical and functional expertise delivered by executive education.
CCL — India’s ability to work along the leadership pipeline from early to C-Suite leaders makes us an ideal partner for our clients.
Through a combination of leadership program offerings, client-centered Custom Solutions, and Executive Leadership Coaching Services, we provide our clients with a great opportunity to create a portfolio of development initiatives that serve the specific needs of their organization. Several of our Indian clients have judiciously used a mix of these offerings to create a tiered learning architecture across leadership levels.
Based on in-depth interviews with over 100 senior Indian executives from eight world class companies headquartered in India, this book is a compendium of insightful stories about learning to lead. The book also provides practical guidance about operating a business in India. Upcoming managers from anywhere in the world can use the Seven Experiences, Eleven Lessons model and the well researched self-assessments, to become top leaders in global organizations. (Learn more)
