About Our Greensboro, NC Campus
This serene, 19-acre wooded campus serves as our global headquarters and the base for our Americas operations. It’s also home to our renowned research, publication, and product development work.
This peaceful, natural setting is purpose-built to balance extensive training facilities with quiet space to reflect on personal leadership abilities, develop new skills, and discover different perspectives. Our leadership development programs, as well as many of our customized leadership development trainings for clients, are held on-site at this convenient location, perfect for leadership development in Greensboro, NC, and beyond.
Facilities
Our main Greensboro campus houses classrooms, observation rooms, action learning laboratories, an on-site cafeteria and gourmet dining room, and a lobby, all encircling a beautiful landscaped courtyard with a bubbling stream and ample benches to rest and reflect.
The campus also now offers the John Ryan Nature Trail, established in 2022 to honor longtime former CCL president and CEO John Ryan (2007–2022). The wooded trail is a half-mile long, with a compacted gravel surface, about a 15-minute roundtrip walk from the building’s front entrance and back. It features 4 benches, a rock garden, and a variety of plant species native to the area. With ample local flora and fauna, the National Wildlife Federation has named our GSO campus a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
Transportation & Parking
Our facility is situated near the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), only about 8 miles away, or a 10-minute drive.
For program participants staying at the specified program hotel, daily transportation to and from our campus is provided. For participants, clients, and guests who wish to commute each day on their own, parking is allowed in any parking space in our large parking lot. Reserved parking spaces for visitors are marked and available near the front entrance.
Coming to Greensboro? Information for Visitors
Although training days are full, our Greensboro campus is nestled within the beautiful North Carolina forest alongside Lake Higgins. It’s just minutes away from Greensboro’s historic downtown, where participants can visit the International Civil Rights Museum, site of the historic lunch counter sit-ins of the 1960s; explore LeBauer Park; and admire the collections of the Elsewhere Living Museum & Artist Residency and the Weatherspoon Art Museum. These provide the perfect opportunity for reflection and recreation, either before or after an experience with us for leadership development in Greensboro.

The CCL Art Program in Greensboro: A Brief History
Ever since we began delivering leadership development in Greensboro in 1970, the Center for Creative Leadership has been inviting local artists to exhibit in our buildings. What began as a need to decorate the hallways has now become part of our Greensboro campus culture, and public art receptions featuring local artists are a key feature of the campus:
- For employees, the art program means our halls get a regular refresh, creating a work environment that inspires creativity.
- For local artists, their work is viewed and purchased by visitors from around the world every week.
- For program participants, they’re welcomed to a space filled with beauty and inspiration — but the impact goes even deeper, because it impacts the overall experience.
Art enhances the experience of our leadership development programs in Greensboro in the following ways:
- Art can elicit emotions, helping participants open their minds to self-awareness and the emotions of others. Self-awareness and emotional intelligence are important parts of leadership.
- Art can provide guidance for creative problem-solving. How did the artist solve the “problem” of interpreting landscapes, sun rays, the human form, etc.? Viewing art in this way can spark creativity and help participants develop out-of-the box solutions to challenges they’re facing.
- Art can take us away from the present and provide an important “break” from a participant’s everyday problems and routines, allowing them to see things with a fresh perspective. The benefits of these “breaks” are backed by neuroscience research — stepping away relaxes the brain and allows it to return to a given task with renewed energy.
Although viewers know they enjoy seeing the art, the exhibits at the CCL Greensboro campus provide benefits beyond what the viewer may even realize, as environment impacts the leadership experience in significant ways.
