Sberbank Corporate University organised an International Conference with more than 200 participants from the business and academic world on how the digital transformation will affect businesses and learning. Marc Dellaert, General Director of CCL in Russia and the CIS Region, attended as a panel member and shared his perspective on the digitalisation.
CCL’s vision on the digital transformation is that leadership development is fundamentally an inside-out transformational journey. Leaders mostly develop through crucial experiences and from others leaders (CCL’s 70-20-10 guiding principle). In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution collaboration and boundary spanning will become even more important to foster innovation and change.
Technology such as wearables, serious games, big data, augmented intelligence, and virtual reality will help leaders enhance their self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and effectiveness. It will also enable teams to work better together by making the flow of information and feedback more timely, relevant, and continual.
Marc Dellaert: ‘We will see new tools emerging that will help us to collect and analyse biometric data. They provide us with an additional perspective allowing us for example to develop a deeper understanding of our emotions and our level of resiliency. Technology will enable us to give and collect instant feedback so leaders can learn and adjust their leadership behaviours on an almost continuous basis. Serious games including Virtual Reality will allow us to experiment in a safe environment.’
CCL is embracing technological advancement to create new experiences for leadership development in the 21st century. Most of the new technologies are still at an experimental stage and our researchers are working on validating the new technology.
