May 2015

The Center for Creative Leadership in Russia and Rotary Russia joined forces in developing a new generation of young and potential leaders. More than 85 participants aged 18 to 30 from different regions across Russia participated in a 3-days leadership boot camp in Kazan from May 1 to 3.

Students, young professionals and young entrepreneurs attended a series of interactive leadership development modules around the central theme ‘Leadership Competences for Success in the 21st Century.’ All young leaders were selected and invited by Rotary Russia under the RYLA program (the Rotary Young Leadership Awards Program).

Marc Dellaert, General Director CCL Russia, Turkey and CIS Region: ‘We live in a challenging and unpredictable world. Leaders who make the future will transform Volatility into Vision, Uncertainty into Understanding, Complexity into Clarity, and Ambiguity into Agility. CCL is proud to cooperate with RYLA and equip young potential leaders with the skills necessary to be successful in the new world.’

CCL believes that developing leadership and human capacity can enhance the human condition. Through our societal advancement efforts CCL works directly with youth, women and underserved populations, and builds the capacity of organisations to serve these groups. The ‘Leadership Beyond Boundaries’ program (LBB) launched in 2006 makes leadership development more available and accessible to all and is fundamental in creating a more peaceful and prosperous world. The LBB initiative spans 30 countries and draws on nearly 5 decades of leadership expertise and resources.

Rotary International ( is the world’s largest voluntary organization comprising over 1,2 million members from more than 32.000 clubs around the globe. People join Rotary because they share its major value of serving the society. Stanislav Romanenko, who happens to be both a Rotarian and a CCL Associate in Russia: “It’s not by accident that Rotary and CCL decided to join forces. Our values resonate. We want to make this world a better place. Working with youth leaders is a proactive step that targets a better future.” For 2016 CCL and Rotary Russia plan to continue their cooperation. The next RYLA program will take place in Rostov-on-Don in November 2016.
