Researchers from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL)® presented at this year’s annual meeting of the Academy of Management. The forum was held July 31–August 4, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM) is the international premier event for scholarly engagement, and the largest gathering of management and organization scholars in the world. AOM’s Annual Meeting provides a global forum for advancing research, fostering collaboration, and sharing insights that address today’s most pressing challenges in the field.
CCL researchers Jean Leslie and Katelyn McCoy presented a session titled “Functional Leader Sensemaking During Polycrisis: Evidence and Implications for MTS Leadership” as part of the Multiteam Systems Under Disruption symposium. The presentation featured insights from their research paper, Leading Multiteam Systems in Polycrisis Conditions, coauthored with Stephen J. Zaccaro.
The Multiteam Systems Under Disruption symposium highlights innovative research on how interconnected teams adapt, collaborate, and sustain performance during times of disruption. Covering topics ranging from technological change and organizational transformation to crises and environmental challenges, the symposium explores what enables teams to remain aligned, resilient, and effective when the broader system is under strain.
As a pioneer in leadership development with more than 50 years of experience advancing leadership research, CCL’s participation in the AOM Annual Meeting reflects our ongoing commitment to shaping the future of leadership. By contributing research and engaging with leading scholars and practitioners, we help advance the field across industries, sectors, and leadership levels while incorporating diverse perspectives that strengthen our work. This exchange of ideas reinforces our mission to advance the understanding, practice, and impact of leadership for the benefit of society worldwide.
