About the Webinar

If you manage others, you must understand social identity to be able to lead effectively in today’s world. And various aspects of identity — both your own and that of others — can be incredibly powerful because, as humans, we unconsciously categorize ourselves and others into groups along social identity lines. Understanding the various nuances and aspects of identity can help you spot situations when someone is unintentionally shutting down diverse perspectives or when actions are being taken that may be rooted in unconscious bias.

Watch this webinar to uncover the relationship between various aspects of identity and unintended bias, and learn how to shift your perspective to move past awareness to taking actions that will help you and your organization to cultivate greater equity, diversity, and inclusion.

What You’ll Learn

In this webinar you’ll learn:

  • The common types of cognitive biases, and how they can affect our behavior;
  • How some aspects of identity are more visible than others, and how that can play into stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination; and
  • The 4 key things to remember about social identity to help you move beyond bias and foster greater equity and inclusion in your organization.

Our Equity, Diversity, and inclusion (EDI) experts and solutions can help your organization better understand the connection between various aspects of identity and bias. We can partner with you to shift mindsets, behaviors, and practices toward a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive culture.
