HERE’S A LOOK AT SOME OF THE WORK OUR TEAMS HAVE DONE WORLDWIDE:
In Madagascar, CCL collaborated with the European Centre for Electoral Support to develop a group of highly educated women passionate about helping young women join and be successful in civil organizations. In addition to learning basic leadership skills, these professional women focused on building their mentorship capacity. At the end of their training, they created a website to advertise their mentoring abilities to the young women they wanted to support, and launched a monthly radio program to educate the public on CCL’s leadership modules.
CCL is turning doctors into system leaders at Cone Health, a large community health system in Greensboro, NC. The Center has conducted Cone’s Physician Leadership Academy since 2012, building skills in self-awareness, personal resiliency, collaboration and team-building for over 100 physicians and counting. The idea is to better equip doctors to effectively cross boundaries and influence the health system’s business outcomes. CCL’s work around the globe includes providing young people with the same access to leadership development as the world’s top corporations. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity, CCL is creating young leaders in the Phillippines through the Habitat Young Leaders Build (YLB) initiative, a popular Asia-Pacific youth-driven campaign that tackles the challenge of providing decent housing as a way out of poverty for families.
With a 4-year grant from the McKnight Foundation, CCL partnered with the Collaborative Crop Research Program (CCRP) to promote collaborative research on agro-ecological intensification in developing countries. In the first year, CCL trained researchers and agriculturists in 3 West African countries, followed by a train-the-trainer exercise. Participants followed up with a learning journal and practiced two leadership skills with underserved populations. As a result of their work, the effort reached more than 3,000 people.
