Integrating Leadership Across Higher Education

Strengthening Higher Education Leadership to Meet Today’s Challenges

The need for effective higher education leadership is stronger than ever. College and university leaders face unprecedented challenges and demands, including ongoing concerns like student enrollment, shared governance, and recruiting faculty — as well as the current environment of rapid change and disruption.

As a learning institution ourselves, we’re dedicated to understanding the leadership competencies college and university leaders need for success. Our research has identified the 5 most essential competencies for higher education leaders — as well as the crucial gaps where these leaders need the most development.
