Our coaching program of research is designed to better understand the practice and outcomes of leadership development coaching. Three studies are currently underway. Through these studies, we are discovering cultural differences in coaching effectiveness, the impact of e-coaching (coaching through online methods), and best methods for evaluating the effectiveness and impact of coaching. Our research program enables us to focus on best practices and outcomes of different modalities (i.e., telephone, online, face-to-face) and settings (i.e., open-enrollment programs, initiatives with intact organizations), and is expected to support CCL in advancing our coaching practice and to contribute significant new learning to the field and practice of coaching.
