Mark brings over 25 years of experience in leadership development, team facilitation and organization effectiveness consulting. For 10 years, he worked as a learning and development manager at Accenture LLC, a global technology consulting company, from 1988-1998. Mark was responsible for partnering with business unit leaders to design, develop and rollout leadership and professional development programs for a worldwide audience. Notably, Mark was selected to serve as a lead faculty member for the Firm’s “Principle-Centered Leadership” Initiative – a flagship program within the global curriculum. Mark was also recognized as an exceptional team facilitator. For 3 years, he served as a teambuilding specialist to help new and existing project teams accelerate performance and improve group dynamics.
Following his work at Accenture, Mark started his own consulting practice in leadership and organization development, where he worked with Fortune 500 companies in the professional services, telecommunications and high-tech industries. Beyond his professional experience, Mark has served on the faculties at Marquette University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he taught courses in small group communication, organizational communication, communication consulting, and corporate social responsibility.
Mark currently holds the position of Organizational Leadership Practitioner an serves as a senior faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina. His focus is on designing and facilitating custom and open-enrollment leadership programs for executives and middle managers in the corporate sector. He facilitates in CCL’s Leading for Organizational Impact: The Looking Glass Experience (LOI) and Leadership Development Program (LDP®).
Mark earned his B.S. in Political Science/Philosophy from Illinois State University, an M.S. in Communication Studies from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mark is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Communication Association. He has delivered papers at national conferences, and continues to actively contribute to research and writing in the fields of management, communication and organization studies.
