Jennifer Martineau - Global Challenges Summit

Kazakhstan, May 17-18, 2018

Jennifer Martineau, senior vice president of Research, Evaluation, and Societal Advancement, represented CCL in two sessions at the Global Challenges Summit 2018 in Kazakhstan, sponsored by the Astana Economic Forum May 17-18, 2018.

In a roundtable addressing the question Rights Instead of Privileges: How Women’s Leadership Can Affect the Modern World, she joined experienced and influential women and men interested in creating a world with gender parity.  With several hundred women and men crowded into the standing-room only room, Martineau shared multiple aspects of CCL’s research related to the challenges facing women who want to advance in leadership roles, such as the importance of sponsorship and networks, the way men and women are treated differently for using the same types of behaviors, and the importance of providing girls and young women with leadership opportunities and role models.
