How will millennials change the workplace and the employment contract?
Millennials are the biggest generation in U.S. history, and they will soon make up the majority of the workforce. As digital natives, they’ve grown up with internet, mobile phones, and social media.
They are connected and choosy. They value happiness, diversity, and discovery more than previous generations. They want access and advancement. They are predicted to cycle through jobs far faster, expecting more of a personal payoff from work. They are less brand loyal and authority driven, looking to peers and networks for input.
How can employers engage, retain and get the best out of millennials? Will the employment change, ceding to short term project-based engagements in lieu of long-term employment? How will millennials grow skills to keep up with opportunities and aspirations?
