Greensboro, N.C. – Russ McCallian, who has led the human resource division for several global companies, has been named the new Managing Director of CCL’s San Diego campus.
Since joining CCL in 2012, McCallian had served as a senior faculty member at CCL’s Colorado Springs campus. Prior to CCL, he distinguished himself as a C-level HR executive in a range of industries, including mining, manufacturing, civil engineering and consumer products. In addition to his work in the corporate sector, McCallian is a former lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army who specialized in the human intelligence and counterintelligence fields. He spent six years as a senior instructor at the Army’s Command and General Staff College.
McCallian replaces Debbie Zaleschuk, who recently retired from CCL.
He holds a master’s degree in management and organization development from Regis University and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Kansas State University.
“With his deep expertise in managing international projects, including mergers and acquisitions, business realignment and the opening of manufacturing facilities, Russ understands the leadership challenges our clients face, ” said CCL President and CEO John R. Ryan. “His considerable experience in Latin America will be a major asset as we continue to partner with organizations in that growing region through our San Diego campus.”
In San Diego, McCallian will direct a team of 70 faculty, researchers and staff who serve clients from around the world.
“I am excited to make my new home in San Diego and to see how CCL’s focus on all levels of leadership development, from the individual to entire communities, will positively impact the organizations we serve here,” McCallian said. “We look forward to building an even stronger partnership between the San Diego community and CCL.”
