Kent Price will lead all HR functions globally as the new Chief Human Resources Officer at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®), a top-ranked provider of leadership development with 10 offices around the world.
Price joined CCL this week. He most recently headed HR for United Guaranty, the American leader in mortgage insurance, while also leading the HR team that supported the Southeastern United States business of American International Group (AIG). AIG is the parent company of United Guaranty. During his tenure, Price helped guide United Guaranty from the No. 4 position in its industry to the market leader, driving best-in-class employee survey results and industry-low attrition.
Prior to that, Price spent more than a decade with American Express, serving in several Vice President-level HR roles. Earlier in his career, he held a number of HR director positions at Whirlpool. Through these roles, he developed expertise in many facets of human resources, including organization design and effectiveness, talent management, leadership development, labor relations, talent acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions, and HR generalist/business partner roles.
“Kent is a great fit for CCL given his extensive global experience, proven leadership in developing innovative strategies for talent development, and strong client focus,” CCL President and CEO John R. Ryan said. “Just as significantly, Kent has been a CCL client, so he deeply understands the value of leadership development and the results that CCL delivers in partnership with the clients we are privileged to serve.”
Price holds a B.A. from the University of Delaware and an M.A. in human resource development from George Mason University. He has been a recipient of two Association for Talent Development Excellence in Practice awards and has earned Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management. He is also a certified coach through the International Coach Federation. Additionally, Price serves as HR chair for the board of the United Way of Greater Greensboro in North Carolina.
“I have been involved with CCL for the better part of 20 years. It is an organization that deeply touched me early in my career as a participant in the Leadership Development Program (LDP)®,” Price said. “The insights from that program have guided my leadership philosophy over the years. Now, I look forward to leading CCL’s talent management team and partnering with CCL colleagues to drive results that matter for organizations and leaders worldwide. “
