The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) will host the North Carolina chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women this month for a meeting focused on the empowerment of women globally.
The meeting at CCL’s headquarters in Greensboro is free and open to the public. It will feature a screening of the acclaimed feature film Difret. Produced by Angelina Jolie Pitt, the movie tells the true story of a women’s rights lawyer who defended an Ethiopian child bride.
The CCL event, scheduled for 9 am – 3 pm on Friday, Feb. 26, will include a 10 am screening of the film, followed by an interactive discussion of CCL’s and the UN Women’s Group’s ongoing work in support of women’s empowerment – and how individuals and organizations in North Carolina might collaborate to advance these efforts.
