Sylvester Taylor
Prior to coming to the Center in 1989, Sylvester formerly held positions in administration and as an Instructor at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill teaching courses in Psychology and Statistics. In addition, throughout his more than 20 years in human resources, he has written and edited numerous articles in scholarly and professional journals. Sylvester has spoken and written widely on issues related to creativity, leadership development, psychological measurement, and organizational effectiveness. He has extensive experience designing and implementing multi-rater feedback projects, facilitating multi-rater feedback for hundreds of successful executives, and helping organizations gain value by connecting their talent management systems and multi-rater feedback initiatives. An article coauthored by Sylvester won the Scientific Contributions Award given by the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management.
Sylvester holds degrees in Economics and Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed extensive graduate course work in psychometrics, psychology, and adult education. Sylvester is a member of the North Carolina Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists and the American Society of Training and Development. He serves on the Board of Directors of the General Alumni Association for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
