CCL's Marian Ruderman Wins SIOP Fellow Recognition

Marian Ruderman17 May 2012 - Greensboro, NC - Marian N. Ruderman, a CCL senior fellow and director of Americas and Europe-Middle East-Africa Research, was named a Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Fellow during SIOP's recent annual conference in San Diego, Calif.

Ruderman was one of 23 distinguished industrial-organizational psychologists inducted with this year's class. Fellows are honored for unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in I-O psychology through research, practice, teaching, administration, and/or professional service.

A SIOP citation noted that Ruderman, who has worked in leadership education for more than 25 years, "has greatly influenced the theoretical understanding of leadership development, inclusion and gender issues in the workplace. Her books and journal publications have been instrumental in advancing views of the types of developmental experiences nontraditional leaders need to be successful in increasingly diverse workplaces."

Ruderman is co-author of Standing at the Crossroads: Next Steps for High-Achieving Women published by Jossey-Bass in 2002. She is also co-editor of Diversity in Work Teams: Research Paradigms for a Changing Workplace published by the American Psychological Association, and co-editor of the CCL Handbook of Leadership Development (3rd edition). Her work has appeared in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Training & Development and elsewhere. She has been quoted in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.

Ruderman is also co-author of the CCL assessments Job Challenge Profile and Work-Life Indicator.
