CCL to Host Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative's International Meeting in Colorado Springs

October 2, 2008 - Colorado Springs, CO and Greensboro, NC - The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) will host the first U.S. general assembly meeting of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI) at its Colorado Springs campus Oct. 13-17. The meeting will bring educators and business executives from around the world to the campus to explore global corporate social responsibility and sustainability issues. The theme for the week is "Fitness for Purpose," addressing fitness and sustainability of the individual leader, organizational sustainability and responsibility as well as the "fitness" of the planet.

GRLI was formed in 2004 to address the challenge of equipping global business leaders with the skills, knowledge and passion to increase the corporate and education world's social and environmental responsibility. CCL joined the initiative in 2006.

GRLI is a unique worldwide community made up of businesses, business schools and other learning institutions that work individually, in pairs, clusters or collectively to promote and support the development of next-generation globally responsible leaders. Its founding partners are the European Foundation of Management Development and the UN Global Compact. CCL's partner is maritime services provider Wilh. Wilhelmsen, which contributed sponsorship for the October meeting.
