Center for Creative Leadership Ranks #1 Worldwide in Leadership Training in Biennial BusinessWeek Survey

Center for Creative Leadership ranked #1 in leadership development by BusinessWeek

October 2003 - Greensboro, N.C. - For the third consecutive time, the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) ranks first in the world for leadership development in BusinessWeek's biennial Executive Education Special Report.

Corporate managers and human resource executives surveyed by BusinessWeek picked the Center as the No. 1 provider of leadership development, ahead of Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and two European-based institutions, IMD and INSEAD.

The Center also ranked No. 4 in BusinessWeek's list of the best providers of open-enrollment programs for executives, jumping up from No. 13 in the 2001 rankings. Additionally, the Center was No. 7 in this year's rankings of custom program providers. The Center was the only non-business school to be ranked in both the open-enrollment and custom categories.

The article accompanying the rankings cites the Center for "impressing custom clients with its depth of offerings in leadership and management development." The article also quotes Deepak (Dick) Sethi, an executive at publisher and financial information company Thomson Corp., on the Center's programs. "The work they do there is like no other school or organization, " Sethi tells BusinessWeek. "It's well thought out, and the programs have impact."

CCL President John Alexander said, "We are delighted to be recognized again by BusinessWeek for our efforts to help individuals and organizations enhance their leadership capabilities. It's a particularly great honor to receive the top ranking in leadership for the sixth year running, and it will inspire us to approach our work with even greater energy."

BusinessWeek's 2003 executive education rankings are based on the results of 134 surveys received from companies worldwide. The special report also offers in-depth information about the state of executive education.

BusinessWeek's Executive Education Special Report appeared in the Oct. 20, 2003 issue of the magazine. The special report is available online.
