Selling Your Ideas to Your Organization

Did you know ...
that top executives say that impact is the most important metric for evaluating leadership development?

Defined as "our programs are driving our top 5 business measures in the organization," top executives ranked impact as the No. 1 metric by which to evaluate leadership development, according to a recent study conducted by Jack Phillips of the ROI Institute.

Even so, only 8 percent of executives surveyed said that their organizations currently measure impact, and 96 percent thought that their organizations should measure it in the future.

After impact, the measures of leadership development valued by executives were, in order of importance:

  • ROI.
  • Awards.
  • Application of skills.
  • Learning.
  • Inputs (how many people, etc.)
  • Efficiency.
  • Reaction from employees.
