Writing Your Managerial User's Manual

Did you know ...
that the ability to lead employees is the top development priority for energy companies?

Energy leaders know they operate in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments. What may be less apparent are the skills they need to succeed.

To help our energy clients understand what leadership skills are most important, CCL analyzed leadership effectiveness data from more than 11,000 people working in the energy sector.

The study indicated that strengthening the ability to lead employees and teams is the top priority for energy organizations looking to invest in talent development.

Energy leaders and organizations also need to create career and development strategies to provide significant broad, cross-organizational experiences and learning. These findings were consistent across the fossil fuel and utilities sub-sectors.

To learn more about CCL's research about leadership development in the energy sector, download our new white paper, The Leadership Challenge in the Energy Sector: What's missing when it comes to leadership talent?
