Why do organizations reward the most vocal or most visible even if they aren't the most qualified? This is a critically important question. Beyond bruised egos and a free-floating sense of unfairness lies a larger organizational problem: when the wrong people get noticed and rewarded, organizations suffer. Projects fail, goals are not met, employee morale and motivation disintegrate, and cynicism festers. This webinar can help you prevent those drastic outcomes by making authentic self-promotion part of your everyday work life.

This webinar session will cover:

  • Why it's important to promote yourself during these challenging times
  • Why people avoid self-promotion
  • Three guiding principles of self-promotion
  • Steps to increase your effectiveness in self-promotion
  • Four reactions to self-promotion

Maximizing the Value of the Webinar

  • Invite others to participate. Structure a group "lunch and learn" session and invite other colleagues to attend.
  • Debrief the lessons learned. Set aside time at the end of the Webinar to discuss takeaways, and how they apply to your group or organization
  • Tap into your training budget. Ask your HR group or manager to underwrite the Webinar as part of your organization's ongoing staff development effort.
