Are you looking for ways to make a significant impact on your firm's performance while also enhancing your ability to influence firm leadership?

Based on CCL's discussions with those individuals responsible for professional development in law firms, we have identified strategies to increase your impact within the firm. One highly effective strategy is to focus on feedback. Giving feedback to others is not something most of us do easily or well, but it is a skill that can be learned and developed with practice. Constructive feedback can reinforce positive behaviors, help you coach young associates who are veering off-track, promote collaboration, and make a real difference in how members of your firm deliver and receive difficult messages.

We'll teach you a simple, three-step model for delivering feedback that you can begin to use right away and easily share with other lawyer-leaders. It's the same methodology we teach to top-tier executives in our highly rated leadership development programs. In fact, this method is useful for employees at all levels of the firm regardless of title, position, or function. It can be used to provide constructive feedback to subordinates, to peers, or even your boss.

In this session, focused specifically on the context of leading in a law firm, you'll learn:

  • Feedback dos and don'ts.
  • How to be more direct, honest, and confident when managing or influencing others.
  • How to increase the likelihood others will be less defensive and more open to hearing your feedback.

Maximizing the Value of the Webinar

  • Invite others to participate. Structure a group "lunch and learn" session and invite other colleagues to attend.
  • Debrief the lessons learned. Set aside time at the end of the Webinar to discuss takeaways, and how they apply to your group or organization
  • Tap into your training budget. Ask your HR group or manager to underwrite the Webinar as part of your organization's ongoing staff development effort.
