University of Maryland University College's National Leadership Institute

The National Leadership Institute (NLI) is part of the Graduate School of the University of Maryland University College. NLI offers three open enrollment programs: the Leadership Development Program (LDP)®, Foundations of Leadership, and the Online Leadership Assessment Program (OLAP)®. NLI also provides leadership assessment services, executive coaching, and custom designed training programs for single organizations.

CCL—Licensed Open Enrollment Programs
NLI offers both the Leadership Development Program (LDP)® and the Foundations of Leadership program.

Customized Training Programs
NLI conducts customized LDP®, FOL and OLAP® programs for client organizations and averages approximately 12 such programs per year. Additionally, based on client needs, NLI designs and delivers leadership training programs in topics such as emotional intelligence, teambuilding and coaching skills.

Online Programs
The Online Leadership Assessment Program (OLAP)®. This is a six-week open enrollment program that consists of three weeks of assessment (including two 360s), two weeks of online courses taken with a cohort group, and one week of personal coaching.

Executive Coaching
NLI's executive coaching program is offered in packages of 6, 12, or 18 hours. All coaching programs include a 360, whether or not the coaching is scheduled as follow-on to a program.

National Conferences
NLI has hosted four major leadership conferences — most recently Leadership Without Borders co-sponsored by CCL in 2001, and the Art and Practice of Coaching Leaders in 1998. NLI sells these conference proceedings publications online.
