Accommodations

Reservations
Participants stay at different hotels in the Greensboro area depending on their course date. The cost of lodging is not included in your program tuition and you are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. We strongly encourage you to stay at the preferred hotel listed under the Accommodations tab on myCCL, which becomes available to you upon registration for your program. CCL participants will receive a group rate at this preferred hotel, which includes transportation to and from CCL. Staying at a different hotel will not afford you these amenities or the opportunity to interact with the other participants in your program. Please note that the deadline for reservations at the preferred hotel is set a month prior to your program and the group allocation is limited. After that deadline, you may lose the preferred hotel price and a reservation at the hotel.

Check in / Check out times
Check in time at all hotels is 3:00 p.m. Reservations are guaranteed for a late arrival. Check out time at all hotels is 12:00 noon. On the last day of your program, however, it is best to check out of your hotel prior to coming to the CCL campus.

Data ports
All hotels used by CCL offer in-room data ports.

Airport

You will fly into the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro. From the Airport, you may call your hotel from the baggage claim area for free shuttle service to the hotel. If your flight arrives within one hour of the program start time, please take a taxi directly to CCL. We recommend arriving the night before your program begins and booking a return flight no earlier than 2 hours after the close of your course.

Cancellation and Transfer Policy

Before a program begins, CCL incurs substantial administrative cost related to your registration. Therefore the following fees apply:

Number of Days
before program
Substitutions Allowed Transfer Fee Cancellation Fee
More than 30 days Yes (no fee) None None
15 - 30 days Yes (no fee) 25% of tuition 50% of tuition
Less than 14 days No 50% of tuition 100% of tuition

Transfers: Transfer requests must indicate the new date and/or new program the participant wishes to attend. 100% of the full tuition is non-refundable if:

  • The participant does not attend another program within one year of the original program start date.
  • The participant transfers more than two (2) times

Refunds: Any remaining balance of a cancelled program's payment can be applied to another CCL program within one year of the original program date. After one year, the balance is non-refundable.

Dress

Dress is business casual.

E-mail

We intentionally do not offer an area for participants to check their e-mail or hook up their computers to the Internet. Our goal is to remove you from your normal work environment while at CCL. We prefer that you check your e-mail from your hotel room (all hotels used by CCL offer in-room high speed data ports).

Invoices

Invoices are processed at the time of registration and payment is due upon receipt.

Meals and Snacks

Most meals are included in your tuition; please refer to your registration packet for specific meal information. The CCL dining room has a wonderful variety of foods, including a salad bar, sandwich bar, two different meat choices, several hot and cold side item choices, fruits, a variety of beverages, and desserts. Breakfast snacks and afternoon snacks are provided daily. If you have special dietary requirements, please contact Client Services at +1 800 780 1031 before the program begins and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Vegetarian and low fat options are available.

Messages

Urgent messages received by Client Services at +1 800 780 1031 will be delivered to you in your classroom immediately. Please route all other messages to your hotel voice mail.

Pre-course Materials

Pre-course materials are assessment tools that are a central part of the program experience. These may include items like a 360-degree assessment tool or an organizational survey. By completing these materials, you provide us with information on your leadership style and work environment, allowing us to tailor your personal development plans based on your specific needs.

Receiving your pre-course materials
Your pre-course assessment materials are sent electronically approximately eight weeks prior to your program date.

Time to complete
Depending upon your program, pre-course assessment materials will require anywhere from 2 to 8 hours to complete. Please begin early, so that you are not forced to rush through the material. An early start will also allow ample time for the raters you select to complete their materials. Specific instructions about distributing and completing these forms are included on myCCL and our online assessment system.

In order to attend the program, it is very important to distribute, complete, and return these materials to CCL four weeks prior to the start of the program. Your assessment feedback is an integral part of the program experience. Missing the deadline will jeopardize your attendance in this program. If you anticipate that you will not have your pre-course materials completed before the due date and would like to avoid cancellation and transfer fees, please call Client Services at +1 800 780 1031.

Recreational Activities

Due to time constraints of the program, there is limited time allotted for sightseeing or recreational activities during the week of the program. We encourage you to arrive in Greensboro a few days early, or stay a few days after the close of the program if you wish to partake in local recreational activities.

Schedule / Program Hours

Course schedules vary, but generally, the shuttle will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 a.m. and you will arrive at CCL at 8:00 a.m. daily. When you arrive at the hotel, you will receive a welcome letter that will include detailed program information. A hotel representative will greet you at the hotel the morning the program starts. Most courses end each day between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., with the exception of the final day of five-day courses, which ends at noon. Participants are given an hour for lunch and several breaks throughout the day for snacks, checking voice mail, and bathroom breaks. It is imperative that you attend all scheduled program activities.

Smoking

CCL is a non-smoking facility indoors. Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside of the building.

Telephones

We request that participants turn off all cell phones and pagers, or turn them to vibrate if emergency calls must be accepted. There are plenty of telephones located outside of the classrooms and a generous number of breaks are given throughout the day to check voice mail and make calls.

Transportation during the program
During the program, shuttle service is provided by CCL to and from the hotel as well as out to dinner as determined by the group. There is no need to rent a car.
