CCL's Foundations of Leadership launches in Europe to great success

Participants credit the multi-national makeup of our programme and CCL's proven approach to development as keys to its success.

CCL believes in highly personalised developmental programmes and intentionally seeks participants with diverse regional and cultural perspectives that mirror international work experiences. In fact, the first European Foundations of Leadership course included participants from 10 different nationalities.

Overview

This interactive programme creates a foundation for understanding the challenges facing a new manager and for helping the individual improve leadership skills and behaviours at a formative stage in a career. Participants learn the essentials of effective leadership, focusing on personal awareness and growth, working relationships, influence skills and conflict resolution.

Who Should Attend

Newly promoted managers in the early stages of their careers, as well as more experienced managers who would benefit from training that addresses the fundamentals of leadership development.

Outcomes

During this programme, participants:

  • Gain an understanding of their current leadership strengths and development needs and how they affect the functioning of their group.
  • Develop the ability to apply effective influencing tactics
  • Learn how to improve the performance of their work groups by better understanding human interaction.
  • Create successful strategies for managing conflict.
  • Establish relationships with people from many countries who are at the same stage in their careers.
  • Set a clear direction for future development.

Special Features

  • Participants receive the benefits of a comprehensive assessment process augmented with behavioural observation and a private feedback session with a certified CCL coach.
  • Participants are introduced to CCL's research on why leaders derail in their careers.
  • A conflict behaviour assessment is used to measure the participant's interpersonal response to conflict.
  • Videotaped problem-solving exercises provide a realistic but safe way for managers in the earlier stages of their careers to learn how to handle potentially volatile situations that might occur in their workplace.
