Who can use it?

For more information, please read the technical requirements and review with your Information Technology staff.
What does 360 BY DESIGN measure?
360 BY DESIGN can assess any of CCL's 94 research-grounded competencies and 5 derailment factors. Each competency has between 3 and 16 questions (behavioral items) to maintain psychometric integrity, the items cannot be modified. As a result, the instrument can be customized to address the behaviors and skills important to high performance in your organization. It can be short, long, focused or general. For more information, see the library of competencies.
Can it include open-ended questions or custom questions?
Yes. There are two standard open-ended questions available as part of the standard set-up package. You can include up to 3 custom-written, open-ended questions or up to 10 questions with a numeric response scale for an additional setup fee. All custom questions are reported in a separate section of the feedback report from CCL competencies.
How customizable is 360 BY DESIGN?
Very. You can:
- choose from 94 research-based competencies and 5 derailment factors (a total of more than 600 questions)
- add standard or custom-written open-ended questions
- include additional survey questions, scored independently from CCL competencies
- customize names of rater categories within the standard set (boss, superior, direct reports, peers and others)
- customize e-mail notifications within the standard set

Is 360 BY DESIGN available in other languages?
Yes, click here for more details.
Is certification required?
Yes, because 360 BY DESIGN is a sophisticated assessment tool and because effective facilitation is critical to its successful use, we require that it be administered only by certified professionals. The Center offers a two-day Assessment Certification Workshop for this purpose. You can choose to register for an open-enrollment certification workshop at the Center or request a custom program specifically for members of your organization.
How does it work?
CCL can have a standard set-up ready to administer in 5 business days. We notify participants via an e-mail message that their survey is set-up and ready to complete. Participants access a secure Web site where they enter their password, register their raters and complete their self survey.
Once participants register their raters, the raters receive an e-mail message which directs them to the survey. Raters complete the survey and submit it electronically. CCL scores, prints and ships feedback reports to the designated certified feedback facilitators. Participants review their results with a feedback facilitator and can use the Development Planning Guide to chart next steps.
What are the technical requirements?
Requirements must be met by all participants and their selected raters. We recommend that a member of your information technology staff review these requirements prior to purchase and use.
